PURSE YOUR OWN DESTINY- FOCUS

I saw this on a friend's wall, just thought it would be nice to share with you. I was jogging one day and i noticed a person in front of me, about 1/4 of mile. I could tell he was running a little slower than me and I thought, good, i shall try to catch him. I had about a mile to go my path before i needed to turn off. So i started running faster and faster. Every block, i was gaining on him just a little bit. After just a few minutes i was only about 100 yards behind him, so i really picked up the pace and push myself. You would have thought i was running in the last leg of London Olympic competition. I was determined to catch him.         Finally, i did it! I caught and passed him by. On the inside i felt so good. "I beat him" of course, he didn't even know we were racing. After i passed him, i realized i had been so focused on competing against him that i had missed my turn. I had gone nearly six blocks past it. I had to turn ...

A POWER OF CHOICE

You have a choice. Live or die. Every breath is a choice. Every minute is a choice. To be or not to be.Chuck Palahniuk You can let the black dog control you or you control the black dog. At its worst, depression can be a frightening, debilitating condition. Millions of people around the world live with depression. Many of these individuals and their families are afraid to talk about their struggles, and don't know where to turn for help. However, depression is largely preventable and treatable. Recognizing depression and seeking help is the first and most critical towards recovery. In collaboration with WHO to mark World Mental Health Day, writer and illustrator Matthew Johnstone tells the story of overcoming the "black dog of depression". watch this http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=XiCrniLQGYc&feature=you tu.be

YOU CAN BE A MIRACLE

Here are some true stories that happened to real people and were told from the first person... Enjoy) -Today, my mom has been blind for 15 years. She lost her vision in the same car accident that took my dad’s life. I am 18 years old now. She has raised me as a single mom since I was 3, without her vision. And yes, she did a heck of a job! -Today, I met the prettiest woman on a plane. Assuming I wouldn’t see her again after we made our connections, I told her how pretty I thought she was. She gave me the most sincere smile and said, “Nobody has said that to me in 10 years.” It turns out we’re both in our mid-30’s, never married, no kids, and we live about 5 miles away from each other. We have a date set for next Saturday after we return home. -Today, my mom received the surgery she needed to remove a malignant tumor. My family has been struggling without medical insurance since my dad lost his job last year. My sister and I have been openly discussing my...

THANKFUL

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful.  ~Buddha As I journey through life, I realise that I am privileged I don't have enough food to eat, but I got something to eat. Someone is hungry out there I don't like my dress Someone is putting on a rag I don't like my house Someone does not have a home I don't like my school Someone out there can't go to school I finally realise that what I don't like Someone out there is craving for my life. Why should I not be thankful? Why should I not be Thankful?
