Lunch with God

Lunch with God Author Unknown There once was a little boy who wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of root beer, and he started his journey. When he had gone about three blocks, he met an old woman. She was sitting in the park just staring at some pigeons. The boy sat down next to her and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the old lady looked hungry so he offered her a Twinkie. She gratefully accepted it and smiled at him. Her smile was so pretty that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered her a root beer. Once again, she smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word. As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave but before he had gone more than a few steps; he turned around, ran back to the old woman, and gave her a hug. She gave him her bigg...

God Said

God Said By Claudia Menden Weisz I asked God to take away my pride. God said "No. It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up." I asked God to make my handicapped child whole. God said "No. Her spirit is whole, her body was only temporary." I asked God to grant me patience. God said "No. Patience is a by-product of tribulations; it isn't granted, it is earned." I asked God to give me happiness. God said "No. I give you blessings, happiness is up to you." I asked God to spare me pain. God said "No. Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me." I asked God to make my spirit grow. God said "No. You must grow on your own, but I will prune you to make you fruitful." I asked for all things that I might enjoy life. God said "No. I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things." I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me. Go...

Focus on the Lesson

Focus on the Lesson Author Unknown I have a friend who every time I had a problem, dilemma or minor crisis would say - - "Focus on the lesson. Ask yourself what am I being shown here" Every person in this life has something to teach me -- and as soon as I accept that, I open myself to truly listening For everyone that makes you cry, there are three to make you smile, And a smile will last a long, long time, but a tear for just a little while. Don't let someone who hates the world cause you to hate it too, Behind the clouds is a Golden sun, and a sky that's full of Blue. If someone said a thing that's cruel, don't let it get to you. Your achievements are greatly numbered, and your faults are very few. So if a certain person should act a certain way, Think of those who Love You, And don't let it spoil your day! Reach high, for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.

Echoes of Our Hearts

Echoes of Our Hearts Author Unknown Sometimes we close our eyes and just listen to the echoes of our hearts. We all fall in love and there are times when we love so much that we lose ourselves in our emotions. More often than not, we wonder why there are love that grows, and love that grows cold. We would start to search for answers and try to find where love has gone wrong. But in the end, we find ourselves where we started for we cannot question love when it has its own reasons. Love will always be as it always has been....silent, mysterious and deeply profound. Many of us believe that love is forever, that love never dies, only to be disillusioned in the end when we find our hands empty and our hearts longing. We mistakenly have looked at love as a need to be fulfilled. But love is a gift given to us. We should not hold it in our hands for we may never find the strength to let it go when it decides to leave. We should only embrace its warmth and glow while it last and then fre...

A Love Story

A Love Story Author Unknown Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all repaired their boats and left. Love wanted to persevere until the last possible moment. When the island was almost sinking, Love decided to ask for help. Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?" Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you." Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel, "Vanity, please help me!" "I can't help you Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat." Vanity answered. Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me go with you." "Oh....Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!" Hap...

I've Learned

I've Learned By H. Jackson Brown, Jr. I've learned - that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them. I've learned - that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back. I've learned - that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it. I've learned - that it's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts. I've learned - that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better know something. I've learned - that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do. I've learned - that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life. I've learned - that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. I've learned - that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them. I...

HOW IT USE TO BE!

How it use to be How it use to be The night of laughter The night of tears The smile on the babe face No thought as the world was not on his shoulder Sleep was an easy task Never felt the throngs of life How it is now The hardship during the day The heavy thought at night The frown on the face The tears for a brighter tomorrow The world on his shoulder Sleep is a task Now knows that life is a race Survival of the strong How it will be Now old and feeble Had work in his youth This determines the rest he gets Has the smile and laughter as lines on his face Nostalgia of the past And thinks How it use to be!
