God Said

God Said

By Claudia Menden Weisz

I asked God to take away my pride.
God said "No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up."

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said "No.
Her spirit is whole, her body was only temporary."

I asked God to grant me patience.
God said "No.
Patience is a by-product of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is earned."

I asked God to give me happiness.
God said "No.
I give you blessings, happiness is up to you."

I asked God to spare me pain.
God said "No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings you closer to me."

I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said "No.
You must grow on your own,
but I will prune you to make you fruitful."

I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said "No.
I will give you life so that you may enjoy all things."

I ask God to help me LOVE others, as much as he loves me.
God said..."Ahhhh....finally you have the idea!"

What Men wants From A Woman

Whether it's what they want from a woman, or from a relationship, the movies, media and our girlfriends give us mixed messages that leave daters confused, frustrated and possibly even making tragic dating mistakes that leave them stuck in their romantic rut. Myth: Men want a quiet, demure woman who is amenable to their needs. Truth: Men really want a happy, confident, communicative woman who is loving and kind. We sometimes mistakenly think that a man wants us to agree with everything he says. NOT TRUE. What's more, contrary to popular belief, men also cannot simply read your mind or guess what you truly want based on your "umphhs, silence, cold shoulder, eye-roll, or door slam." Males and females communicate differently. So when you're in a relationship with a Boyfriend Material man, he's goi...

I've Learned

I've Learned By H. Jackson Brown, Jr. I've learned - that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them. I've learned - that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back. I've learned - that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it. I've learned - that it's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts. I've learned - that you can get by on charm for about fifteen minutes. After that, you'd better know something. I've learned - that you shouldn't compare yourself to the best others can do. I've learned - that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life. I've learned - that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be. I've learned - that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them. I...

What is Your worth?

Several years ago, a Pastor was posted to a church in a big town, Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride in a bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down after paying for the fare, he discovered that the bus-driver had mistakenly given him a little above his change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, ''You'd better give the excess back. It would be wrong to keep it.'' Then he thought again, ''Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. The driver won't worry about this little amount, moreover he makes so much money it won't affect him. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.....It doesn't matter...'' When he got to his bus-stop and was about to alight, he paused shortly at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, ''Here, you gave me excess change.'' The driver, with a smile, replied, ''Aren't you the new Pastor in town?'' ...
